How To Create An E-Book To Market Your Products Or Services

In case you haven't heard yet, ebooks are one of the best ways to get people who are interested in what you have to say to sign up and opt-in to your mailing list or ezine.

One question I get asked quite a bit is simply this, "how do I create an ebook and what software do I need to do it?"

The answer is way less complicated than you might think. While there are many different software solutions out there claiming to help you make a great ebook, you don't actually have to spend a lot of money.

You can create an ebook just by typing whatever you want to say into a word processor and saving it. It's that easy.

Now, if you want to get a little bit more fancy and ensure that your ebook is easy for people to read AND that it cannot easily be modified by those who download it, you may want to get a little bit fancier.

The most popular and widely used ebook creating software is Adobe's Acrobat. You can find it at pretty much any software store or at Adobe's main site.

To make an ebook with Acrobat, you simply install the software, create your ebook in your favorite word processor and then either choose "Save As" from the file menu and choose "Acrobat" as the file format, or save the document and then open Acrobat and create a .pdf file from there.

Acrobat does all the heavy lifting for you and when you're done, you have an ebook.

Pretty simple, isn't it.

One of the biggest advantages of using Acrobat is that it can be viewed online and offline by pretty much any computer using any system software, at least among the most popular ones available.

Also, Adobe provides the Acrobat Reader as a free download from its site, so your readers are not forced to pay for any third party software to read your ebook.

Additionally, Acrobat Reader is so popular that there's a good chance that your reader already has it installed on their computer and won't even be asked to do an install before being able to read your ebook.

Using some of the other ebook creation tools out there can require your reader to go and download or install software just to read your ebook. That may discourage them from getting to the meat of your message because they don't want to install a program they don't recognize or haven't heard much about on their computer.

So, if you are thinking of creating an ebook to help you market your products or services and you're ready to move forward, just type up your message in a word processor and convert it to a pdf using Acrobat. Once that's done, you've got an ebook to sell or give away to build your list.
